Every month here on the ol’ blog we’ll introduce you to a Country Willows team member. Let's start it off with a team COUPLE!
Hayden serves as the chef at Country Willows, while Taylor holds the position of lead housekeeper at both Country Willows and its sister property, Palm Motel and Cottages. As high school sweethearts, the couple made their way to Ashland to pursue their education at Southern Oregon University. They tied the knot during their time at SOU and have been happily married for five years.
As lead housekeeper, Taylor is in charge of training the housekeeping staff at each location. If you see a flash go by, that’s probably Taylor. She is always in high gear!
Hayden's journey began at the age of seven, cooking with his grandparents. He’s been using his culinary skills locally since 2016 at various restaurants and resorts. The duo has gained valuable experience and refined their skills by working at various hospitality and food establishments in the local area.
When a chef recommends an eatery you want to pay attention. Hayden says their favorite dinner spot is Sawaddee Thai and Asian Cuisine in Ashland. When they're not tending to the guests at Country Willows, the couple enjoys hiking on the nearby trails or spending leisure time at one of the many nearby lakes. They also enjoy exploring thrift stores and antique shops.
Hayden says the thing they love most about working together at Country Willows is they get to live on the five-acre property. “It’s a slice of paradise. I mean it pretty much feels like we’re living in a Studio Ghibli film,” says Hayden.
