Protect Your Getaway with Travel Insurance
A getaway should begin with anticipation—not worry. Yet even the most carefully planned trip can be disrupted by a sudden illness, family emergency, unexpected work obligation or severe weather. Winter travel to Southern Oregon can be especially unpredictable when snow and ice affect the mountain passes leading into the Rogue Valley. Purchasing travel insurance shortly after booking can help protect the prepaid, nonrefundable costs of your stay when an unforeseen covered event prevents you from traveling.
Country Willows Inn makes every effort to be understanding when plans change, but last-minute cancellations can leave us with a room we are unable to rebook. Changes or cancellations made within four days of arrival are therefore charged in full. Cancellations or reservation-date changes outside that window incur a $30 processing fee, and refunds or credits cannot be provided for early departures. Although our policy is more flexible than many lodging properties, travel insurance offers an additional safeguard when circumstances fall outside anyone’s control.

Coverage varies considerably, so it is important to review each policy’s covered reasons, exclusions and purchase deadlines. Standard policies may reimburse prepaid expenses for qualifying events such as illness, severe weather or certain travel disruptions, while “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage generally costs more and reimburses only a portion of the trip. Travelers can compare plans through InsureMyTrip or explore companies such as AIG Travel Guard and Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. Your credit card may also include limited travel benefits, so check its coverage before purchasing a separate policy. Medical-transport memberships such as Medjet can provide additional assistance but are not a substitute for trip-cancellation insurance. A little planning now can help ensure that an unexpected change doesn’t take the joy—or the investment—out of your Country Willows getaway.
